I was born in the Netherlands and raised in a Turkish family. After years of experience as a nurse, I completed the training to become a Social Psychiatric Nurse (SPV). Working at the crisis service and GGZ, I have 16 years of experience in the field.<\/p>\n
I noticed more and more in my work that people do not receive the right or desired treatment. They often fall between the cracks, don't feel heard or taken seriously and often encounter a language barrier. For me, that was the moment to focus more on this target group.<\/p>\n
Important to me is that I can help people efficiently, effectively and informally in a people-oriented way. My intercultural background ensures greater empathy and understanding, especially for people with a Turkish background. And thanks to my experience in the field, this informal and people-oriented approach is easy to achieve, without having to go through an intermediary or colleague.<\/p>\n
My work in crisis services is also a valuable addition in helping my patients. The experience ensures that during treatment we are not only dealing with what is going on at that moment, but that we also detect in time and work preventively and to prevent crises.
